I went out for a quick spin around Wednesday night’s route from Twyford and I can report that the trails are in top condition. Ideal for getting a taste of mountain biking.

The dirt is that lovely consistency that flatters you at every turn. Just dry enough that there’s no mud and just damp enough that there’s grip in spades.

Much more pleasingly though, the verges have been cut back so the final descent beside Hockley Golf Course is wide open and great fun.
